Sextech has gained in popularity exponentially over the past few years, and no wonder! With so many people responsibly staying at home during pandemic times, couples had to find a way to be together and remain physically intimate, no matter the distance between them.
And just as other tech had to evolve and innovate to meet growing consumer demand, the sextech industry – and brands within the industry – rose to the challenge with innovative and sleek designs that offered its users pleasure unparalleled.
Amongst all that self-discovery, we found some truly wondrous sextech toys, like Kiiroo’s brand new Keon interactive stroker, one of the best examples of sex toy innovations I’ve seen so far.
My personal thanks to Kiiroo for sending me a pre-release version ahead of its mid-October availability. It always feels nice to be wanted, especially when I get to try out this fascinating new toy before anyone else does!

What is the Kiiroo Keon?
Nuts-and-bolts wise, the Keon is not one sextoy but two. The core component is Kiiroo’s non-motorized Feel Stroker, with the Keon basically acting as a motorized housing—along with accommodating the Bluetooth electronics.
After quite a few years as a sextech reviewer, and far longer as an enthusiastic consumer, I have to say that I’ve never seen anything quite like this set-up.
And, to be fair, I’m still not sure how I feel about it. But before I get to my honest opinion, let’s get further into what the Kiiroo Keon is—and isn’t.
Weight and Size of the Kiiroo Keon
Out of the pleasant packaging, which sets the stage by highlighting the toy’s interactive capabilities, I was immediately struck by its size and weight. The Kiiroo Keon measures close to nine inches in length and six inches in diameter, clocking in at a hefty two pounds!
The Feel Stroker component is the same length, but only three or so inches thick, and pleasantly light at only 80 grams in weight.
Setting Up the Kiiroo Keon
There are two switches on either side of the Keon, which I’ll explore more fully in a moment. These switches separated by a rectangular-like indent. At the top of this is the charging port and above that you’ll find the on/off and the mode control buttons.
To connect the Feel Stroker to the Keon, you insert it into the base of the Keon, turning gently until you hear a satisfying click. Once done, the Keon will subsequently drive the Feel Stroker up and down and so forth.
You can also switch modes to Bluetooth the unit to Kiiroo’s new FeelConnect 3 app, giving you access to all its interactive bells and whistles. If that’s not your style, you can just use the app without this interactivity.
Meanwhile, if you want things even more manual, you can always remove the stroker entirely to use it all on its own, which is quite impressive: the sleeve excellently balances construction with texture to deliver an amazingly pleasurable experience, magnified still more when the motorized Keon drives it.
The Keon also has a number of optional sleeves available for purchase, giving those of us equipped with penises additional reasons to pick it up. None of the optional sleeves were included in my pre-release version, so you won’t find a discussion on those in this article.
What’s Great About the Kiiroo Keon?
The Keon has a lot to offer beyond its unique design. The built-in controls on the right-hand side speed the Keon up or slow it down, and the left-hand buttons control the length of your strokes.
Sync up the FeelConnect 3 app to the Keon to really get it to show its stuff. There’s a pleasantly wide range of connectivity options, including to sextoy interactive adult education sites, certain webcam performers, and for those with virtual reality rigs, expect a major boost to your sexual immersive activities.
Cleaning the Feel Stroker is easy, as it can be removed without excess muss or fuss and then gently soaped, watered, and dried. I suggest a mild dish soap, though my Keon stroker arrived with two different water-based lubricants and a Kiiroo-branded “Intimate Toy Cleaner.” But I’m unsure if this is a standard inclusion or a bonus that only came with my pre-release version.
My perfect pre-release gift also included some nice promo stuff, like 50 free tokens for the Kiiroo.Live site—which is packed with all kinds of sultry cam models—along with a free month of Xvideos membership, where the content is designed to interact with the Keon and other toys just like it.
In regards to what we’re all here for, if the Keon should be a welcome addition to your long-distance playbag, I first have to talk about the previously mentioned FeelConnect 3 app—and where, alas, I’ll also touch on why it and the Keon still have major kinks to get worked out.
How to get your Kiiroo Keon up and running
The Keon’s packaging is pleasant, though not spectacular. It’s just a brightly colored promotional outer wrapping over unremarkable cardboard. However, this shouldn’t necessarily be a concern unless you like your sex toys to be as unobtrusive as possible.
Inside there’s the unit, or to be more accurate, units, those promo giveaway cards, and a folding booklet with a QR code and instructions in various languages on how to use it to download the Keon’s user manual.
Oddly, while it doesn’t look anything like their products, this approach—over including an actual, printed booklet—made me think of Apple and how they seem to leave something behind with every new product.
Not that I’m complaining, as I think it’s kind of cool. This approach lowers the toy’s environmental impact and makes it more comfortable to read than when it’s printed in tiny type in a tiny booklet. Still, it is a noticeable disadvantage for those without smartphones. But considering the toy is built and designed with interactivity in mind, they aren’t its intended audience.
The Keon stroker also arrives with a power cable but, as is typical with modern sex toys, no charging brick. I used a spare Apple one, reinforcing my fondness for Mac stuff, and it worked quite well.
Unfortunately, charging is a touch problematic, as it takes four hours to charge for a mere two hours of playtime. That, if you really put it through its paces, can drop to an incredibly disappointing 30 minutes before needing to juice it up again.
Now we get to the FeelConnect 3 app. Please excuse a dramatic GRRRR but seriously, Kiiroo, what the hell? The reason for my irritation is that the PDF manual has an embedded link to download the Android or iOS version of the app—but this isn’t the right version.
After contacting Kiiroo, I was finally pointed to the updated version. After that, things went smoother—though not smoothly—and soon I was Bluetoothed up.
The not-smoothly is while it’s a considerable improvement, many of the Feel Connect 3’s features—like creating playlists of actions, responding to sound, or to music—aren’t yet available. Hopefully, before the Keon’s launch in a few weeks, this will get worked out.
I was also disappointed that I couldn’t get the adult entertainment interactivity to work. Sure, I could connect to suitable videos, but when I played them, zilch, nada, zippo in the feel and see department. Again, my fingers are crossed that Kiiroo fixes this and soon.
But that’s not what we’re here for, is it? Well, I hate to say this it looks like if you’re planning to use the Keon for long-distance sexual activities, you might have to (and, yes, you very well may have seen this coming) wait until Kiiroo does that much-needed software upgrade.
Here’s my own experience. With my fingers firmly crossed, I first attempted to link my beloved Lovense Nora to the new Kiiroo app. But, sorry to say, it didn’t work. Hate to burst your bubble, but if you think it might be a problem with the Nora … well, it wasn’t. I successfully connected My Nora to Lovense’s own app without a hitch.
But what about Kiiroo’s toys? Fortunately, being a sextech reviewer does have its perks, so I picked up my Onyx+ and tried to get it and the FeelConnect 3 to talk to each other.
And it did and, sadly, didn’t. I mean that though it appeared in the new app, I immediately got a message that it’s no longer supported and that I should instead use the old app—the one that doesn’t work with the Keon.
Seriously, Kiiroo? It’s one thing to no longer support an older product, but the Onyx+ is far from antiquated tech. For the third time, I’d like to stay optimistic that this gets patched in a FeelConnect 3 upgrade.
If you and your partner have a Keon, then here’s some much-needed good news as the app does seem to allow similar units to interact with one another.
Oddly, rather than allowing one person to create a one-time key and the other consent to the connectivity as other companies do, Kiiroo instead requires everyone involved to sign in or create an account with them. After that, then users can connect using their profile name.
Since I didn’t have an extra Keon laying around, I couldn’t give this a try, so as of this writing, I don’t know what kind of shared controls or mutual responsiveness is available.
Pros of the Kiiroo Keon
Despite my criticisms of its software, the Keon’s hardware is genuinely excellent and enjoyable to use. In my time with it, the motors never felt like they hit that troubling sextech uncanny valley wherein aiming to be as natural as possible, the toy backfires by coming off as more disturbing than arousing.
This is particularly true in the design of the stroker component. The sleeve felt comfortable when it should be and arousing when it positively must be. Resorting yet again to waving my qualifications around, I’ve played with a pretty extensive sampling of similar stroker-type toys, and none of them were as fun to use as Kiiroo’s RealFeel—with his pleasure dialed to eleven when those perfectly designed motors get involved.
Even with my frustration regarding the FeelConnect 3 app, it’s still a tremendous improvement over the old app—and when Kiiroo fixes what’s broken, I have no problem saying that it may very well be the best sextech control out there.
Cons of the Kiiroo Keon
To Kiiroo’s credit, I only have one quibble with the Keon’s hardware: it’s the weight. Holding this sucker for the first time, I was equally excited and worried about what would happen if I accidentally dropped it on my foot or, worse still, a far more sensitive part of my anatomy.
It also made using it rather challenging for the first time, as it took some maneuvering—and a copious amount of pillows—to get it and myself into a comfortable position, but after this was achieved, I never had to think about it again.
As you may have guessed, the biggest strike against the Keon stroker isn’t the toy itself but the new app. So much so that in all honesty, I have a hard time recommending it to couples interested in long-distance erotic play—unless everyone has a Keon of their own, of course.
But even so, as so many of its essential features and support for other toys has not been implemented yet, it’s something to keep seriously in mind.
Our Verdict of the Kiiroo Keon Review: Should You Buy it?
So when the smoke cleared, and all is said and done, what’s my takeaway from my time with the Kiiroo Keon?
If I’ve come off as a bit too strident, I apologize. The Kiroo Keon is truly superb. I’d even go out on a limb and say that when it comes to stroker-type toys, this is the top of the sextech peak, the one other competitors are still struggling to beat.
It’s just profoundly disappointing that the Keon’s most loudly-advertised features, it’s connectivity for long-distance play and interactivity with porn and camgirl sites, is currently crippled by irritating software problems.
Here’s the thing: though I swore and swore again at the FeelConnect 3 app, I still give the Kiiroo Keon a big stamp of approval. Agreed, for couples wanting to have sexual pleasure while separated, it’s not the best. But this is a problem with the software and not its hardware—which is, to be directly about it, darned close to perfect.
Summing up, if you’re interested in long-distance activities then, flat-out yes, you should consider purchasing a Kiiroo Keon and Feel Stroker. I just wouldn’t buy one until I was sure Kiiroo had a good amount of time to fix their FeelConnect 3 app.
Then, and only then, will the Keon be where it should be: ideal in brains as well as in its sexually enjoyable brawn.
