I have a good assortment of Lovense sextoys, but not that many of them are for people with penises. But the few I do have, my friends with them have raved about how arousing they are, so I was very excited to receive Lovense’s newest masturbator: the Calor.
It is very different from their other sleeve toys, like their Max or Max 2, because it’s designed to be used manually. It’s kind of like an aid to using your hands to masturbate and not something that does everything for you.
Like everything from Lovense, the Calor is well made and can be physically operated using its built-in buttons or the Lovense Remote app.
In my opinion, this is the easier way, and you can fine-tune the speed or type of vibrations you feel and do many other fun things. You can also connect a Calor to another Lovense sextoy to have one respond to the other or vibrate when something sexy happens in a porn movie, and other exciting things, too.

What a Calor looks like
The Lovense Calor is much smaller than the Max or Max 2 and fits in one hand. It’s also open-ended, so it can fit over any length of the penis, which is something some of my male partners have complained about with other masturbator toys.
It comes with sensors along the interior that detect how much of a penis someone is putting into so it can provide more or fewer vibrations to match.
Because it is so flexible, it’s really easy to squeeze the Calor, if you want. This is another thing my male partners have said they wished other toys like it would do. It’s why I said the Calor was more like a masturbation accessory. When a friend and I tried it out, he said it was way more fun than any other toy he’d tried.
He even said he didn’t think he’d go back to the other masturbators he had bought before, like the Max 2. But he also told me he wouldn’t get rid of his Max 2 because it still might be fun to switch between these two toys.
The Calor’s many features
The toy has an extra feature that will warm it up with a press of a button so the person using it doesn’t feel like they are sticking their penis into a chilly tube.
You connect it to a power supply and then push the ‘A’ button for three seconds to get it working. This makes the ‘B’ button turn orange, and when it goes out, the Calor is warm and ready to use.
The Lovense Calor has three built-in speeds and four preset vibrations. To select the speeds, press the ‘A’ button to turn it on before pushing ‘B’ to switch it from automatic to manual. Next, tap ‘B’ again briefly to select its speeds or vibrations.
You don’t have to do anything except use the toy when it’s on automatic. Its three sensors on the inside of the sleeve will detect how much or how fast it’s used and then will change how much of a vibration it gives.
My friend and I both discovered this was the way to go. It’s easier than using the Calor’s buttons, with the only thing beating that was using it with the Lovense Remote app.
How to Use the Lovense Calor with the Remote app
The Calor is fantastic with the Lovense Remote app; other toys you connect to it respond extremely fast, so there’s practically no delay between any other toy and itself.
Setting up the app is so simple; anyone with a little experience with smartphones can do it. I’ve done it many times before, so there were no surprises.
I was using my old Android, and again, it was no trouble at all to download and install the free app. But for this review, I deleted the app to begin from scratch. After that, I pressed the control to have the program look for the Lovense Calor, which I’d put in standby mode by turning the toy on.
It was only a few seconds before the app discovered it and instantly let me adjust the Calor’s vibrations. The app was noticeably quicker and easier to adjust the vibrations, much more than with the masturbator’s built-in controls.
To use it with another Lovense toy was just as easy. I tried it with the Nora and Lush 3 I own. It was amazing quick to respond and before I knew it, I was controlling all three toys separately or having them to respond to the Calor.
Of the two of them, the Nora wins for its responsiveness. It was so good! When I moved it in and out, the Lovense Calor copied its actions very well. It should, as it uses the same electronics for close-together or long-distance play. Though I didn’t try long distance as the person I was playing with was in the same room as me.
Once again, I had a lot of fun with the Lovense Remote app and picking music to have it vibrate to. It was so enjoyable I thought about making a list of songs that’d be perfect for this so I could have an hour or more of musical enjoyment with the Calor.
The app works as well with some porn videos. It was a little tough to find them though, so I hope more will become available in the future.
How to charge and clean the Lovense Calor
The Calor comes with a magnetic charging cable to attach to the toy. It doesn’t come with a power source, but any USB, like the one I have for my Android phone, will do the job.
The ‘Getting Started’ guide says the Calor needs 90 minutes to fully charge. After that, it’ll go for another 90 to 120 minutes.
The Lovense Calor is 100% waterproof. So it’s great for playing in the shower, bathtub, or with lots of lubrication – without ever worrying it might be damaged.
Waterproof also makes cleaning headache-free. My male friend said this is another big reason they fell in love with the Calor.
With other masturbators, he said, you have to pull the sleeve part out and avoid getting any water into the toy when using or cleaning it. It was also tough to put the sleeve back into those other toys, more so because you had to be careful not to tear it.
The Calor doesn’t come apart, though, and is waterproof. To clean up, you can soak the whole toy in warm water or, better yet, run it under the faucet while washing it with some mild dish soap, rinse it off again, and then dry it completely with a lint-free cloth.
You get a storage bag with the Lovense Calor, too, so it’s not hard to keep dust or lint off of it once its cleaned.
What are the Calor’s measurements?
The toy is nearly six and a quarter inches long, two and three-quarters wide. The sleeve is six inches by one and a quarter to a little over an inch in diameter.
My friend said it was an exceptionally well-fitting masturbator, not once too loose or too tight, but he also thought others might feel the opposite as no one has the exact same penis size or shape. This is where the Lovense Calor’s flexibility is wonderful for them as they can tighten it just by squeezing the toy.
What comes with the Lovense Calor
In addition to a bag to keep the toy in and its magnetic charging cable, you get a user’s manual and a quick start guide. The guide explains the basics you’ll need to know about turning it on and using its control buttons, cleaning, charging, and pairing it with other Lovense toys.

Lovense Calor Review: The Verdict
I don’t have a penis, but I like spending time with people who do. And, time and again, when I do, both of us enjoy using toys like the finely made ones by Lovense.
Playing with a Max or Max 2, and me there with them was very arousing. They are excellent sextoys, but we wished we could get our hands on something more manual so he or I could take control of the stroking.
Lovense Calor is what we’ve wished for. The first time, it felt like we were sharing in the experience, which made it so much hotter.
