All About the Lovense Hush 2
The XS, or small, and the L, for “larger” are some of the best-made anal sex toys I’ve ever seen or used myself. There’s something about them that screams quality, from how smooth and well-shaped they are to how well they work with the Lovense smartphone app.
The two toys are the same except for their dimensions and battery lives. Otherwise, they might as well be identical. However, I recommend anyone new to anal sex toys choose the smaller model. If they, like me, have tried and enjoyed them, go with the larger one.
Both of them are very powerful, which is great for anal sex toys. That’s a good thing because a weaker motor would not offer up as much pleasure as the Lovense sex toys do. Each has three built-in power levels and four patterns, aptly named Pulse, Wave, Fireworks, and Earthquake.
This is very good, and controlling the butt plugs is done with a button located on the base of the toy. But I think they’d be better if they had more than one control button because it can sometimes be hard to change from one power level or vibration type to another, especially when the toy is slick with lubricant.
This is why I believe it’s one of those toys that can only be enjoyed with the Lovense Remote smartphone app. With it, you can easily make it vibrate more or less and make personalized patterns you can set up, lie back, and have fun with.
What Makes the Lovense Hush So Great
The two Hush 2 are made of smooth silicone, so they won’t irritate or hurt you during anal sex play. They are built with a small tapering section before the handle/base that keeps them in place and helps avoid stretching out the anal sphincter.
Those handles/bases made it easy to pull them out when you’re done. They aren’t so big that they’re uncomfortable but big enough for you to get a good, firm grip on.
When using both the Hush anal sex toys, I realized I didn’t need much lubrication. Comparatively, when I used other anal sex toys, they seemed to require a large amount of lubrication. Not that you shouldn’t use an adequate amount of lube; there just seems to be something in how Lovense makes their Hush 2’s that keeps them smooth and comfortable without needing to apply and reapply an excessive amount of lubrication.
You should only use lube made for these kinds of toys. If you don’t, it can irritate or injure your anus or wreck the toys. Lovense sells a water-based lubricant, but their site doesn’t mention whether it can be used for anal sex toys. So I used coconut oil because I’ve read that when using silicone toys for anal play, you want to avoid water as it’ll get quickly absorbed, meaning you run the risk of irritating your anus.
There are silicone lubes out there, but you shouldn’t use those. I’ve been told they can ruin silicone toys like the Hush 2. There are other good anal lubes, though I’ll stick with coconut oil as it’s affordable and completely natural to use.
How Big Are the Hush 2 Versions?
The smaller Hush 2 is 4.72 inches long and one inch wide. It narrows near the base to about half an inch, and the handle is 2.64 inches across. Its insertable part is 3.86 inches, which I found great as it’s neither too short or too long, especially for beginners.
The larger Hush 2 is 6 inches long and at its widest is 2.25 across. Its narrow part is 1 inch, and its base is 3.15 inches.
It’s bulbous, looking like many of my other anal sex toys. If you’ve also used them then you shouldn’t be surprised by what they feel like or what it’s like putting them in (or taking them out).
A simple cylinder, the smaller Hush 2 is perfectly designed for beginners. Inserting or withdrawing it is easy and painless.
Charging the Lovense Hush 2
The two Hush 2 anal vibrators come with a magnetic charging cable to attach to something like an Android or Apple power brick.
They connect very firmly, and when I used these cables, they only came loose once or twice. Still, make sure when you charge either of them to put them where they won’t be bumped.
The larger Hush 2 takes a long time to charge, about two and a half hours. Once charged, it can run for eleven hours! This is impressive as none of my other toys last this long! That makes it the best toy I can think of if you like long and slow anal sex playtimes.
The smaller Hush 2 butt plug takes just 40 minutes to charge and will last for two hours, which isn’t a great amount of time. Considering this smaller anal sex toy is best for beginners, two hours should be enough time to enjoy yourself before needing a short break, anyway.
Cleaning and Storing the Hush
You have to clean your anal sex toys before and after using them. This aspect of of owning a sex toy can easily make or break anyone’s decision on which ones to buy.
The good news as this is easy with the Hush 2 vibrators as they’re seamless, aside from the areas around their power buttons or the contacts for their magnetic charging cables. So you only have to scrub the rest of them, which is not difficult.
I did what I normally do when cleaning my toys: I used warm water and unscented natural antibacterial soap. I then dried them after with a good towel, and put the toy in the bag it came with, storing it in its original box in a cool, dry place. Lovense products come in great packaging, as I have many sex toys that came with poor packaging.
Things That Come With the Lovense Hush 2
The toys have a magnetic charging cable, storage bag, a manual, and a quick-start guide. The guide’s type isn’t so small I have to strain to read it and is also on the Lovense site if you have trouble seeing it.
The site is where you can find everything you need to know about toys, like the Hush 2 anal vibrators with the Lovense Remote app. You can download the PC or Macintosh desktop versions of the app, and use programs like their Mirror Life game and their Media Player for making any of their Bluetooth toys work with a favorite adult movie.
Hush 2 and the Lovense Remote App
If you have an Android phone like me or an Apple iPhone like my partner, you can download and install the Lovense Remote app. It’s a breeze to use it to control toys like both the Hush 2 models and lots of other cool things.
I’m not good with technology. However I usually figure things out if I work hard enough or get some help from technical support, but the Lovense Remote app is amazingly easy to use.
All I needed to do was turn on either of my Hush 2 vibrators, open the app, and hit the little plus sign. The app took a moment or two to find my toy, and then I could control its power and create and save my own vibration patterns for later.
I like how straightforward and simple it is to make my Lovense toys vibrate with my phone’s music playlist. I had a nice time trying out one after another, looking for the right one to make my Hush 2 turn me on.
I tried using the app to have a friend control my Hush 2 and get our Lovense toys working together, though he lives across the country. I thought this wouldn’t be easy to do or fun, but I was very wrong as we had an amazing time, especially when we used Zoom.
I played around with making my Hush 2 respond to a porn video, though it took me time to find ones compatible with the Lovense Remote app. After I did, I was impressed by how it worked and what it was like to feel and see what was happening.

Lovense Hush 2 Review: The Verdict
Lovense has rocked my world by releasing their small- and large-sized Hush 2 vibrators. I have quite a bit of experience with anal play and was pleased by how the smaller model felt. I know it’ll be an ideal toy for people new to this sexual activity.
The larger one is also enjoyable for me and will be for anyone familiar with how good anal sex toys feel—and both toys are better for how well the Lovense Remote app works with them.
