Of the many, many—and still counting—many manufacturers out there producing innovative, superbly engineered, and most of all amazingly intelligent and interactive sextech devices, one that frequently and deservedly stands out from the rest are those from Lovense.
This is why when they unveiled their rabbit-type vibrator for vulva-equipped individuals, there was a great deal of standing up and taking notice.
But when all’s said and done, how does the Lovense Nora stand up in the design, engineering, and enjoyability department for those interested in using it for (pretty obviously) Long-Distance Fun—and, more importantly, does it help to firmly cement this already highly-respected sextech company as the best of the best, or should it instead receive a lackadaisical meh.

Is the Nora the Lovense rabbit vibrator we’ve all been waiting for?
In the parlance of sextech hardware, the Nora vibrator is—as Lovense puts it right there in the box—a rabbit-style vibrator. If you’re unfamiliar with this term or puzzled over how it’s used, consider it as a penetrative toy (the large part) that additionally features a second “extension,” I guess you could call it, designed to stimulate the outer region of the vulva—specifically the clitoris.
This design is far from new, with some even tracing its origin decades back to vibrators with similar features coming from our good friends—and long-time sextech mavens in their own right—the Japanese.
And there’s an excellent reason why it’s stayed with us for this long, as it’s masterful form and function has tickled the fancy of what must be millions of users.
What Lovense’s done, though, is take this classic and smartened it up by upping the rabbit-style vibrator game.
To begin with, they ditched the original toy’s often dubious construction in favor of one that’s about as well-built as humanly possible, like covering the Nora with an IPX6-rated silicone outer covering that does triple duty by making the toy comfortable and pleasurable to use, remarkably easy to clean, and—topping it off—allowing the Lovense Nora to be gotten as wet as you want.
This high-grade engineering is also reflected in its mechanics, with the Lovense Nora coming equipped with two motors: one that causes the clitoral extension to vibrate and the second to rotate (and counter-rotate if that’s your thing) the penetrative part.
A with many Lovense toys, the Nora is also smart in that it can Bluetooth connect to their Android or iOS Lovense Remote app—for close-range play and superior control options—or the Lovense Connect one for, what we’re all here for, lovers who want to link up their toys for mutual enjoyment.
On that, when looking at it for those desiring sexual activities no matter the distance, it scores a resounding BRAVO for responsiveness, effectiveness, and features for separated lovers.
If interactive porn is your thing, the Nora can be set up—again using the Lovense Remote app—to mirror the sexy doings in a suitably-enabled video—which I’ll explore more in a little while.
In regards to control, the Nora vibrator has two buttons and a LED light. The top of which is your power on/power off—and Bluetooth standby mode when you connect it to your smartphone or computer button, but when held briefly down, it activates the clitoral vibrator and by tapping again allows users to cycle through three intensities and four pre-programmed patterns such as Pulse, Wave, Fireworks, and—to rock your world—Fireworks.
Below it, the second button controls the rotating part: three speeds and, when held down, makes it go counter-clockwise instead of the opposite.
What you can make it do, though, expands considerably when it’s paired with either app, like creating and sharing customized vibrating and rotating patterns.
What the Nora has to offer
Let’s break this down into two parts. Mechanically, the Lovense Nora is excellent: in all the months I’ve used mine, never once has it done anything but perform beautifully. Believe me that this is high praise as I wish I could say the same about the many other toys I’ve reviewed, more than a few newer and far more expensive than the Nora.
So it’s evident that Lovense knows how to make a good toy. But my praise doesn’t stop there as no matter how wet I got, it never once slowed down. The vibration and rotation features are also perfect for what’s designed and built to do. Back to old war stories, it’s become a common grievance of mine with these types of toys to have their mechanisms fall way too short in the intensity or variety of stimulations department.
Not with the Nora, though, as it’s built-in rotations and vibrations will pretty much do the job with anyone using it—and better still when it’s Bluetooth connected to the Lovense Remote app.
The good news keeps coming, as the Lovense Nora stands out as a toy by alleviating an even bigger bee in my bonnet than other toys falling short in their pleasure delivery.
By that, I mean battery life, as this is a toy that only requires about an hour or so—sometimes less, I’ve been delighted to notice—to run for an impressive four hours of continuous use.
It will also stay changed in standby mode for five whole days! As someone who’s been repeatedly annoyed when after reaching for a favorite toy only to find it dead as a doornail, requiring a mood-killing hour or more to get it juiced back up, I give Lovense a resounding pat on the back, making the Nora a perfect plaything for spontaneous enjoyment.
How to Use the Lovense Nora
In reverse order, the Nova arrives in an exceptionally handsome box which, alongside the toy itself, there’s a quick set up guide, a more comprehensive one in various languages, and a pretty standard magnetically-attached charging cable.
On the last, I have a moderately severe criticism that while it doesn’t change the Lovense Nora’s grade from a pass to fail, this type of charging connection is the worst. Mostly because it’s so damned finicky in that though you might get it to stick and begin charging, the slightest movement is enough to break the connection.
So, dear Lovense, while I have nothing but praise for your products and you as a company, I’m begging you to stop, please stop using these magnetic chargers.
That out of the way, if you want to use your Nora with the Lovense Remote or Connect app, just download either or both to your suitable smartphone, put the toy into Bluetooth search mode, and it’ll talk to either app in no time.
From there, you can utilize the Lovense Connect app to add interactive sexplay to your long-distance relationship or with the Lovense Remote, get off on using two similar toys in the same room with another—plus creating and sharing your customized vibe or oscillate patterns, if you want.
If your PC or Macintosh computer has Bluetooth, you can also download and install the Lovense Remote app, which offers the same features.
Alas, the Lovense Media Player is PC only, but if you have the supportive hardware—and Bluetooth—you can use it to add specially-created playlists of Nora actions to any video downloaded to your computer.
Pros of the Lovense Nora
As with a majority of Lovense’s products, the Nora vibrator is a perfectly designed and well-manufactured sextoy. The silicone outer covering is comfortable, body-safe, water-resistant, and easy to clean.
The penetrative part has three speeds and the option to counter-rotate, while the g-spot stimulator delivers an equal three speeds and four unique preset patterns. The controls for all of this are intuitive and simple to operate no matter whatever position the user manages to get themselves into.
Coupled with Lovense Connect, the Nora can be remotely controlled anywhere in the world or, utilizing a matching type of Bluetooth-enabled toy, be used interactively so that one partner’s will be mirrored by the other.
Additionally, the Lovense Remote app can be used to create customized playlists of actions that can then be shared with others. For adult entertainment sites that support it, Lovense Remote’s also capable of interacting with various videos or, using the Lovense Media Player (PC only), users can create their own that will work with a downloaded video.
Cons of the Nora vibrator
Not many, but if I had to make a list, it’d have to top it off with the annoying magnetic charging connector, which unless it’s attached and then carefully—very, very carefully—left undisturbed will fail to charge the unit.
The verdict of our Lovense Nora review
Plopping the Lovense Nora on my scale of pass or fail, it’s immediately apparent that—despite its small problems—it ends up tipping pretty obviously in its favor.
This is particularly true for anyone looking to add a stable, full-featured, and gloriously pleasurable toy to their long-distance loving fun.
So, boiling this down even more: if you want a great toy, then don’t walk but run to get your hands on the Lovense Nora—and of staying sexually connected to your partner no matter the miles between the two of you, then don’t run but sprint to buy one as when all’s said and done I sincerely doubt you’ll find anything more enjoyable.
